SLI recruits proven teachers from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England and India. We select qualified Elementary, middle and high school educators with experience teaching foreign languages (Spanish, French, German, Italian), English as a second language, math, science, computer technology, other core subjects and special education. We verify the credentials of participants, check their references and conduct in-depth personal interviews to assure a high level of quality.

SLI manages the administrative details of bringing an international teacher to the US and ensures the following:

  • Payroll and payroll taxes

  • Workers' compensation
  • Apartment assistance
  • Teacher orientation

Placement and follow up:

SLI works with participating schools and districts to place qualified teachers in appropriate settings. Our staff maintains a close contact with teachers and schools throughout the year to monitor program and teacher success.

Guaranteed services

SLI guarantees that each international teacher will be an asset both to the classroom and the community. We will replace any teacher who does not measure up to our high standards or school districts expectations.

Direct Placement policy

SLI also provide schools with the option for "direct staffing," and will be responsible for helping the school to obtain a legal work-permit for the teacher to be employed directly by the school. We do this through direct placement of a teacher or through a "buy-out" of our employee currently teaching in your school. The buy out never occurs without the consent of all parties concerned.
